Mr. Max M. Fisher's desire to transform the school into one of the nation's leading institutions led to his generously contributing to the school. Thus since 1993, the college has been named after him.

The proximity to the airport facilitating the reach of New York, Boston or Washington in a couple of hours can be availed to the student's benefits - personal leisure or job hunting. Columbia with its diverse and rich setting allows the students to get a taste of anything they want - sports, arts, entertainment, culinary or technology.
The Fisher College of Business consists of a technically competent environment of over 3000 computer ports, satellite uplink capabilities, video on demand. The upcoming 120 million $, 370000 square foot project has five academic building and a separate hostel.
On-campus housing provides 37 residence halls equipped with a Combination microwave/refrigerator, Cable TV, Internet access (also known as ResNet), Laundry facilities, Smoke detectors in all resident rooms and on all residence hall floors, Weight rooms and Bike storage rooms and Vending machines. Off-campus accommodation other than Fisher Coomons can be arranged through Housing Fairs, Roommate Fairs and other events.
